The
program for manual load control in 5 watt increments, independent of the pedaling speed.
The
Cardio program has been developed specifically for cardiovascular training. Once the training pulse rate has been input, the program will watch and control your heart pulse rate. Whenever the pulse rate during training increases to a value exceeding the input pulse rate, the pedaling resistance will automatically be reduced, if the pulse rate drops below the input value, the pedaling resistance is increased accordingly.

Pulse rate measurement methods

Using
an ear clip to illuminate the earlobe. Each heart pulse generates a
modulation of the illumination, which is detected by an infrared light
sensor and converted to pulse rate for display in the appropriate window.

Heart
pulses are detected and amplified using a chest belt, and then transmitted
wirelessly to a receptor build in the dashboard of the ergo_bike.
